BJP chief whip Manoj Tigga on Saturday slammed the TMC mouthpiece over report connecting Agnipath to Shinzo Abe's assassination.
West Bengal BJP chief whip Manoj Tigga on Saturday slammed the Trinamool Congress' mouthpiece, "Jago Bangla", for drawing a link between former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe's assassination with the Centre's newly launched Agnipath scheme.
"TMC will always do opposite of what Modi ji says, they have no love for the country. Who writes like this? Shinzo Abe had such great relationship with Modi Ji, hence a day of mourning was declared but they are connecting it with Agnipath," Manoj Tigga said.
"What Jago Bangla has written is extremely wrong. TMC wants to mislead the youth of the country. BJP wants to create nationalistic sentiments and TMC is desiring to do the extreme opposite," Manoj Tigga added.
Earlier in its report, the Trinamool mouthpiece had claimed that Shinzo Abe's killer Tetsuya Yamagami worked with the Japanese Navy for 3 years and was jobless without any pension after that.
In a front-page story published in party mouthpiece ‘Jago Bangla’, the TMC stated that Abe was killed by a former Japanese defence personnel who wasn’t getting pension.
Abe was shot in the neck and chest while campaigning in western Japan on Friday. He was pronounced dead five-and-a-half hours later after going into cardio-pulmonary arrest and showing no vital signs.
The shooter, identified as 41-year-old Tetsuya Yamagami, was immediately arrested. Police said he had worked for three years in Japan's Maritime Self-Defence Forces, also known as the Japanese Navy.
