Trinamool MLA Arrested In Bengal Jobs Scam, 2nd Arrest After Ex Minister

Trinamool Congress MLA Manik Bhattacharya has been arrested after being questioned overnight by the Enforcement Directorate in the alleged teachers' recruitment scam in West Bengal. His arrest comes months after former Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee and his close aide Arpita Mukherjee were arrested in the scam.

Mr Bhattacharya will be taken for a medical test and produced in a court today.

The MLA was summoned for questioning by the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) after recovery of documents from his home following searches of his residence in the Jadavpur area of Kolkata.
