Days after TMC MP Mahua Moita’s comments on Goddess Kali sparked a row, the Trinamool Congress has raked up BJP National Vice-President Dilip Ghosh's comments questioning Goddess Durga's lineage.
Days after Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra’s comment on Goddess Kali sparked a row, West Bengal Women and Child Development Minister, Dr Shashi Panja, slammed the BJP over its National Vice-President Dilip Ghosh’s comments on Goddess Durga's Lineage.
The senior TMC leader said, “The TMC respects all religions and we have condemned the poster of the documentary, Kaali."

"Mahua Moitra had said something at a conclave regarding Goddess Kali, but it was in her own capacity and not of party. The TMC has not supported her statement," said Panja.
Panja was referring to Moitra’s comment, “Kaali to me, is a meat-eating, alcohol-accepting goddess. You have the freedom to imagine your goddess. There are some places where whiskey is offered to Gods and in some other places it would be blasphemy.”

Dr Panja lashed out at BJP's stand on Dilip Ghosh's statement. "However, we question the BJP on their stand on the comments of Dilip Ghosh on Goddess Durga. At the same conclave, Dilip Ghosh questioned the lineage of Maa Durga," Panja said.
