Marking the 101 birth anniversary of filmmaker Satyajit Ray, a Durga Puja committee dedicated a pandal to the legendary female characters of his movies. The theme of the pandal is ‘Shotoborshe Satyajit: Debipokkho’.
A Durga Puja committee in South Kolkata's Hazra dedicated a pandal to the life and strong female characters of filmmaker Satyajit Ray. The theme of the pandal is ‘Shotoborshe Satyajit: Debipokkho’.
In the pandal, Ray's female characters are highlighted through various props, light designs and sound effects.
The club said as Durga Puja has been acclaimed internationally as a World Heritage by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), they are celebrating Ray’s creations.
The club named Hazra Udayan Sangha is also celebrating the 101st birth anniversary of Pather Panchali's director this year, along with Durga Puja. That's why several Durga pandals across the city are based on Satyajit Ray and his work.
