India Today
Trent Boult is expected to join the rest of the New Zealand squad possibly before their 2nd Test against England but definitely ahead of the World Test Championship final. Boult headed home to meet his family after the suspension of IPL 2021.
New Zealand bowling coach Shane Jurgensen on Thursday said the support staff has specific plans to help Trent Boult ease into the longest format of the game when he returns from New Zealand for the tour of England. Jurgensen said the support staff is using the time in isolation in England to prepare specific plans for individual players in the lead up to the 2-Test series against the hosts. Trent Boult is expected to miss the first of the 2 Tests against England, starting June 2 at the Lord's London. The New Zealand pacer went home from India after IPL 2021 was suspended on May 4 due to positive Covid-19 cases in the bio-bubbles of franchises. While the likes of Kane Williamson and Kyle Jamieson headed to the Maldives, from where they reached the UK, Boult went home to be with his family. Boult is set to return possibly in time to be picked for the second Test against England but certainly in time for the ICC WTC final, according to New Zealand Cricket. Boult along with New Zealand trainer Chris Donaldson, who was with the Kolkata Knight Riders, are currently completing their 2-week managed isolation, which ends on May 22.More Related News
