Transfers of 90 doctors were cancelled after being found to be against norms in Uttar Pradesh.
Transfers of 42 more doctors part of the Provincial Medical Service (PMS) in Uttar Pradesh have been cancelled after being found to be against norms, taking the total to 90.
All these doctors were transferred from the government level. Following an internal enquiry, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak took notice of the irregular transfers and asked the health department to cancel the transfer orders.
Out of the 17 doctors whose transfers were cancelled, seven doctors were posted in Lucknow.

In these transfers, the rules of conjugal policy, less than two years in retirement, being disabled and seriously ill among others were not followed.
At the directorate general level, an inquiry was instituted against eight officials, including former DG Health Dr Vedbrata Singh. Now, action is awaited on those responsible for the irregularities at the government level.
While a total of 2,200 doctors of PMS cadre were transferred, 350 doctors were from level one and the rest 1,850 doctors were from level two and above.
