A unit of foresters, vets & staff had worked so much. Two wild elephants captured by KFD were reported to have caused some life loss this year. Hassan team had used Kumki elephants to capture these. Kumki elephants are usually trained by the Forest department. Mostly orphaned elephant calves raised by d dept are selected and trained. Kumki elephants usually have broader forehead & stronger build to control the wild elephants. More important here is d mahout who trains them. Yes madam agreed . We need to appreciate the great efforts of the forest officers and their entire team as they protect the fragile ecosystem for the future generations.
