'Traffic Violations Settlement Initiative' with 50% discount to run from December 18

The General Directorate of Traffic has announced 'Traffic Violations Settlement Initiative' in order to help violators clear pending violations. The initiative gives 50% discount while clearing the accumulated violations. To be run for three months, the grace period will come into effect from December 18 while coinciding Qatar National Day. This was announced during a press conference, held at the headquarters of the directorate on Monday. Traffic officials said that the payment can be completed through Metrash2.
Director General of Traffic Brigadier Mohamed Abdullah al-Shahwani urged the public to take benefit of the initiative saying that stricter legal procedures regarding traffic violations will be in place from next year onwards.
Colonel Dr. Muhammad Radi al-Hajri said that the initiative aims to correct the conditions of violators and not to accumulate violations for vehicle owners.
