Ahead of the Independence Day celebration at Delhi’s Red Fort on August 15 and rehearsal day on August 13, the following traffic restrictions have been imposed. You can check out the entire list of diversions and restrictions here.
Ahead of India’s 75th Independence Day Ceremony, which will be celebrated at the Red Fort on August 15, certain traffic restrictions have been imposed in and around the area on August 13 (rehearsal day) and on August 15.
The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, will address the nation from the rampart of the Red Fort on August 15, on the occasion of Independence Day.
For the convenience of invitees and for security reasons, the following traffic restrictions will be imposed.
The following roads will be closed to general traffic from 4 am to 10 am on August 13 and 15. Only labelled vehicles will be permitted:
1. Netaji Subhash Marg from Delhi Gate to Chatta Rail2. Lothian Road from GPO Delhi to Chatta Rail3. SP Mukherjee Marg from HC Sen Marg to Yamuna Bazar Chowk4. Chandni Chowk Road from Fountain Chowk to Red Fort5. Nishad Raj Marg from Ring Road to Netaji Subhash Marg6. Esplanade Road and its Link Road to Netaji Subhash Marg7. Ring Road from Rajghat to ISBT8. Outer ring Road from ISBT to IP Flyover (Salimgarh Bypass)
Borders around Delhi will be closed for the movement of commercial and transport vehicles on August 12 and 14 from 10 pm to 11 am. A total of 18 border areas around Delhi have been added to this restricted list.
They are: Noida Border, Loni Border, Singhu Border, Ghazipur Border, Badarpur Border, Safia Border, Maharajpur Border, Aya Nagar Border, Auchandi Border, Surya Nagar Border, Rajokri Border, Dhansa Border, Apsara Border, Kalindi Kunj Border, Jharoda Border, Bhopura Border,Lal Kuan Pul Prahlad Pur Border, Tikri Border
