The westbound lanes of Hwy. 401 were jammed for kilometres Tuesday morning as Ontario Provincial Police investigated a fatal crash near Woodstock, west of London.
The highway was closed between Hwy 59/Norwich Avenue and Sweaburg Road following the collision, which involved only one vehicle. At around 10:30 a.m., OPP West Region posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that two lanes had reopened, with police remaining on the scene to get traffic flowing.
In another post, OPP Sgt. Ed Sanchuk also urged commuters to drive safe about icy conditions amid dropping temperatures mixed with rain.
More information on the crash will be released as it becomes available, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
