Trade union wing of Congress party took out a protest march at Changanassery town against leader VD Satheesan, who had recently made a comment that the trade union was not a feeder organisation of his party.
The workers affiliated with the Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) staged a protest in Changanacherry town on Friday against the statement made by opposition leader VD Satheesan, distancing the Congress party from its trade union.
VD Satheesan had recently made a comment that the trade union was not a feeder organisation of his party.
The demonstration was held by labourers who are based at the Changanacherry market on Friday morning. They denounced Satheesan's remark and said they are not against Congress but against VD Satheesan's statement on trade unions.

INTUC state leader R Chandrasekharan told members to refrain from protesting against the Leader of Opposition.
"This is not the time to complain. We are with the Congress party and whatever happens should stay inside," he said.
Trade unions had protested against a private television channel after one of its anchors made some alleged disparaging remarks against Left trade union leader and Rajya Sabha MP, Elamaram Kareem. Satheesan was reportedly unhappy over the INTUC's support for CPM leader Elamaram Kareem over an issue pertaining to the national strike.
