
Toronto police officer stabbed, suspect shot in west Toronto

A Toronto police officer has been stabbed and a suspect shot, according to Toronto police.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, police say the incident happened near College Street and Lansdowne Avenue around 1:30 p.m.
In a statement, the Toronto Police Association told CBC Toronto the officer is conscious and breathing and was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The statement also says that a person was shot during an altercation and that person was taken to hospital. Police have not provided an update on the severity of the person's injuries.
An inspector at the scene tells CBC Toronto that the SIU has invoked its mandate.
