Torbaaz director Girish Malik’s son dies of suicide after father asked him to stop drinking: Report

It has now been reported that director Girish Malik’s son died of suicide after falling down from the 5th floor of his building. Reportedly, he took this step because his father asked him to stop drinking.
In an unfortunate news, filmmaker Girish Malik lost his 17-year-old son, Mannan on the occasion of Holi, March 18. It was earlier reported that Mannan fell from the 5th floor of his building in Mumbai and was rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, he couldn’t survive. According to a new Times Of India report now, it is said that Mannan died of suicide after his father asked him to stop drinking.
Director Girish Malik, who has directed films like Sanjay Dutt's Torbaaz Mann Vs Khan, Jal, among others, lost his son Mannan on March 18. As per a report by The Times of India, Girish’s son Mannan came back home in the afternoon after playing Holi. Later, he fell from the fifth floor of his building located in Oberoi Springs, Mumbai. Mannan was rushed to Kokilaben Ambani Hospital, but he didn’t survive. ETimes has now confirmed from police that Girish Malik's son jumped from the building deliberately. It was a case of suicide. The post-mortem was done today, March 20, at Siddharth Hospital and the last rites are going to be conducted in Delhi.
Talking to ETimes, Senior Police Inspector Bandopant Bansode of Amboli Police Station, said, "Mannan had come home consuming a few drinks after playing Holi. However, he kept drinking at home too. His father had a word or two with him asking him to not drink but he did not listen. He got aggressively excited, broke the window and leaped out. Prior to that, Mannan had become aggressive with his mother too. Whenever he drank, he often could not keep control over himself. Apparently, Mannan jumped off when his father had gone to his own room and the mother was not nearby, probably in the kitchen.”
Girish Malik’s partner in Torbaaz, Puneet Singh had first confirmed the news of the former’s son’s passing. Our condolences to the family!
