Top WH energy adviser's prediction comes back to haunt as gas, oil prices skyrocket

President Biden's top energy adviser Amos Hochstein did a victory lap in May over low oil and gas prices, months before prices would surge to new heights.
"We took the decision, a number of decisions, the SPR (Strategic Petroleum Reserve) was only one of them, to make sure that to bring down inflation that we're seeing now, that was — really oil prices, which affect food prices, were really affecting inflation rates," Hochstein said. "We brought down the price of oil and the price of gasoline and electricity and food for the consumer." Thomas Catenacci is a politics writer for Fox News Digital.
