Here are the key news developments to watch out for from Karnataka today
1. BJP’s senior leaders will start a tour of Karnataka today to assess the ground situation ahead of polls. They are travelling in three teams and state in-charge Arun Singh too is in Karnataka as part of the exercise.
2. Karnataka has over the last few days seen a series of communal incidents. Former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa yesterday called for an end to targeting of the Muslim community by Hindutva groups. It remains to be seen if other BJP leaders will join him in opposing it.
3. The task force on start-ups will submit its recommendations to the Government today. Minister for IT-BT Ashwath Narayan will receive the recommendations.
4. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy unit will be inaugurated in Victoria Hospital today. It is the first of its kind unit to be installed in any Government hospital in Karnataka.
5. Bengaluru Development Authority is holding a press meet on Shivarama Karanth Layout.
1. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to continue his coastal tour on April 12 and April 13. He will attend meetings of BJP in Mangaluru today and later address mediapersons at 1 p.m. Mr. Bommai will visit Polali Rajarajeshwari temple near Mangaluru late in the evening today.
2. Nadi Meenugarara Sangha, those who catch fish in rivers, to address a press conference regarding sand extraction in rivers.
