Worldwide, the film has entered the Rs 2300 crore club.
Top Gun Maverick, according to a report by Koimoi. crossed the $300 million (Rs 2300 crore) mark at the worldwide box office. The much-anticipated sequel to 1986’s Top Gun, has Tom Cruise reprising the role of Pete Maverick. In India, the film's total collection may go up to Rs 20 crore by the weekend. The film was released in theatres on May 27.
Top Gun Maverick was originally scheduled to release in July 2019. The film follows the story of Maverick, who is forced into teaching a new generation of fighter pilots, including Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw, the son of his best friend and pilot Goose, who died in the original film. The iconic Top Gun was released in 1986. Tom Cruise has only been busy working on Mission Impossible movies, the franchise that began 10 years after Top Gun turned out to be the biggest blockbuster.
