Top 5 selling mid-size sedans in May 2021: Verna moves ahead of City; Rapid, Ciaz, Vento follow

The Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Skoda Rapid, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Volkswagen Vento were the top five selling mid-size sedans in India in May 2021.

The Honda City and the Hyundai Verna have been involved in a tussle for supremacy in the mid-size sedan segment for quite some time now. While the City was the best-seller in April 2021, the Verna moved to the numero uno position in May 2021. Behind these two vehicles in terms of sales, which were severely affected during the month by the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, were the Skoda Rapid, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Volkswagen Vento. With total sales of 1,181 units in May 2021, the Hyundai Verna was the largest-selling mid-size sedan in India in May 2021. However, it had much better sales of 2,552 units in April 2021. The Verna is priced between Rs 9.19 lakh and Rs 15.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
