Trinamool Congress general secretary Abhishek Banerjee slammed BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari and said he took bribes on record.
Trinamool Congress general secretary Abhishek Banerjee slammed BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari during a public rally in Haldia on Saturday and said Adhikari took bribes on record.
“One person has destroyed the work culture in Haldia and looted you all. He has taken bribes on record," the TMC leader said.
He said, “One who vandalised the idols of Vidyasagar, jumped on his feet to save himself from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).”
Haldia is considered to be Suvendu Adhikari's bastion. Banerjee termed the leader of the Opposition to be the 'wall' that did not let the people of East Midnapore reach out to West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.
“In 2011, we won with our ideology and Mamata's face,” said the CM's nephew.
“Post 2011, a wall was made so that a connection between us and people is not made. Today, I broke the wall,” the TMC leader said.
Taking a jibe at ex-colleague Suvendu Adhikari and said, “The leader joined the party whose ideology termed the revolution of 1942 to be unlawful.”
