As part of an annual ritual to ward off evil spirits, a priest in Tamil Nadu was made to bathe in water mixed with 108 kilos of chilli powder during Aadi Amavasai celebrations.
Sunday marked Aadi Amavasai celebrations in Tamil Nadu and parts of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana. Considered an auspicious day, Aadi Amavasai signifies the new moon day in the month of Aadi as per the Tamil calendar. While it is customary to take a dip in waterbodies during this 'new moon day', a priest in Tamil Nadu was seen celebrating Aadi Amavasai in a most unusual manner - bathing in water mixed with 108 kilos of chilli powder.More Related News
