Chennai police, on Wednesday, February 23, filed a new case against ex-AIADMK minister Jayakumar for protesting without permission during election day. He was arrested on Monday, February 21, and sent to jail for attacking a DMK worker.
Chennai Police, on Wednesday, February 23, booked ex-AIADMK Jayakumar in another case for protesting without permission during election polling day. He was booked under Section 148 of the Indian Penal Code. The Tamil Nadu urban local body polls were held on February 19.
On Monday, February 21, the former minister was arrested for attacking a DMK worker along with 39 other AIADMK cadres and he was sent to prison.
In his complaint, the victim, Naresh, stated that he was surrounded by Jayakumar and several other AIADMK cadres when he went to vote on February 19.
