TMC issues showcause notice against Sisir Adhikari, his son over voting in V-P polls

Trinamool Congress MP Sougata Roy on Sunday lashed out at his party colleague Sisir Adhikari and his son Dibyendu Adhikari. A showcause notice has been issued against them for taking part in V-P poll.
Trinamool Congress MP Sougata Roy on Sunday lashed out at his party colleague Sisir Adhikari and his son Dibyendu Adhikari for not obeying the party's instructions and participating in the Vice-Presidential poll.
Sougata Roy, while talking to the media, came down heavily on Sisir Adhikari and his son Dibyendu Adhikari. Sougata Roy said, "They have been asked to showcause. Why didn't they obey the party's order? The matter against Shishir Adhikari is subjudice now. Speaker will take action against him. If not, the party will surely take action".
Trinamool Congress MP and Leader of the House in the Lok Sabha Sudip Bandyopadhyay has written to fellow parliamentarian Sisir Adhikari and his son Dibyendu Adhikari asking him to explain why he participated in the Vice-Presidential election when the party had decided to abstain from the process.Two MPs of the Trinamool Congress voted in the Vice-Presidential election disobeying the party's instructions. They are two members of the Adhikari family. Sisir Adhikari is an MP from Kanthi and his son Dibyendu Adhikari is an MP from Tamluk.
Both of them voted in the Vice-Presidential election on Saturday, ignoring the instructions of the Trinamool top leadership. The Trinamool Parliamentary Party thinks that it is an anti-party act. So Trinamool Lok Sabha party leader Sudeep Banerjee wrote to Sisir Adhikari and his son to explain the reason.Sources inside the Trinamool congress have said the party is not happy with the act. Last Thursday, Sudip Bandyopadhyay had written to Sisir Adhikari and his son separately and instructed them to refrain from voting. But both of them went to Delhi and voted without obeying that order.
In the letter, Sudeep wrote, “Please refer to my letter dated August 4, 2022, wherein you were informed that our parliamentary party members both in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha would abstain from voting in the Vice-President election on Saturday, August 6, 2022. We noted that you cast your vote in the Vice-Presidential held today”.
