TMC fields actor Shatrughan Sinha from Asansol for Lok Sabha bypoll

The TMC has nominated actor Shatrughan Sinha as its candidate for the Lok Sabha bypoll to Asansol constituency.
Former Union minister and actor Shatrughan Sinha will be contesting the Lok Sabha bypoll from Asansol constituency in West Bengal on the All India Trinamool Congress' ticket.
TMC supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced the same on Twitter on Sunday. She wrote, "Happy to announce on behalf of the All India Trinamool Congress that Sri Shatrughan Sinha, former Union Minister and famed actor, will be our candidate in Lok Sabha by-election from Asansol."

To contest the bypoll to Ballygunge Vidhan Sabha seat in West Bengal, the TMC has nominated former Union minister and singer Babul Supriyo.
In a tweet, Mamata Banerjee wrote, "Sri Babul Supriyo, former union minister and noted singer, will be our candidate in Vidhansabha by-election from Ballygunge. Jai Hind, Jai Bangla, Jai Ma- Mati- Manush!"
