Earlier, when the BJP had opposed the naming of a Sports Complex on Tipu Sultan in Malad, Congress Minister Aslam Shaikh had circulated a letter saying that Ameet Satam had supported a proposal for the naming of a road in the name of Tipu Sultan in 2013.
However, Ameet Satam claimed that the said letter was fake, and his signature had been forged. He had also filed a complaint at Juhu Police Station saying that his signature had been forged and he was defamed by Shaikh.
The Congress said that they are in possession of the true copy of the letter that Satam had signed. Satam was a BMC corporator in 2013 and supported the move, claimed the Congress. They have filed a complaint with police claiming that Satam filed a complaint to create enmity between two communities with UP elections in mind.
