Tip of iceberg: Captain Amarinder Singh as Congress logs 5 defections in Punjab

After five Punjab Congress leaders quit the party and joined the BJP on Saturday, Captain Amarinder Singh said that "this was just the tip of the iceberg".
Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh took a jibe at the Congress after five more party leaders from Punjab defected to the Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday, June 4.
Former Punjab cabinet ministers Gurpreet Singh Kangar, Balbir Singh Sidhu, Raj Kumar Verka, Sunder Sham Arora, and ex-MLA Kewal Singh Dhillon were inducted into the BJP today.
Following the defection from Congress, Amarinder Singh tweeted, "My best wishes to Balbir S Sidhu, Gurpreet S Kangar, Dr Raj Kumar Verka, Sunder Sham Arora, and Kewal Singh Dhillon for taking a step in the right direction and joining BJP today. This is just the tip of the iceberg!"

Amarinder Singh had quit the Congress party on November 2 last year. At the time of tendering his resignation to the Governor, Captain Amarinder Singh had said that he felt "humiliated" by the tacit support the Congress party's national leadership extended to Navjot Singh Sidhu.
