Conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar gifted a Tiffany diamond ring to actor Jacqueline Fernandez, the ED alleged in its chargesheet.
A diamond ring from Tiffany with ‘J&S’ engraved was given by conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar to actor Jacqueline Fernandez on Valentine’s Day last year, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has alleged in its chargesheet.
According to sources, the ‘J&S’ stood for the initials of the two - Jacqueline and Sukesh. Jacqueline Fernandez in her statement confessed to receiving the ring from Sukesh’s associate Pinky Irani, the ED said.
However, two days before she was gifted the ring, the actor stopped talking to Sukesh after learning about his real identity and his criminal records.
Sukesh had introduced himself as Shekhar, the owner of a television network and a relative of a prominent south politician. But within a fortnight of her conversation with him, Jacqueline called his bluff, from news articles about him. The actor’s manager learnt that Shekhar is actually Sukesh Chandrashekhar - a conman with a criminal record.
“Pinky Irani admitted that on February 15, 2021, she (Pinky) had gone to meet Jacqueline Fernandez and reassured her that Sukesh Chandrasekhar was a genuine man and everything mentioned in the article was a thing of the past and a result of political rivalry. She (Pinky) had delivered a Tiffany diamond ring with the initials J&S along with flowers and chocolates on behalf of Sukesh Chandrasekhar,” the ED said in the chargesheet.
Sukesh, in his statement, told the probe agency that Jacqueline Fernandez has been his close friend and that he has given around 15 pairs of earrings, five Birkin bags, few high-end bags from Chanel, Gucci, YSL, clothes and shoes from luxury brands, bracelets, bangles from Hermes, Tiffany bracelets and rings along with watches from Rolex, Roger Dubuis, and Frank Muller. The jewellery, according to Sukesh, costed him around Rs 7 crore.
Sukesh also told officials that he had bought a horse for Jacqueline Fernandez worth of Rs 57 lakh and paid Rs 7 lakh for the allotment of a stable and membership for the horse.
