Three TN policemen suspended for assaulting blind man in Pudukkottai

Shankar, a visually impaired person, allegedly complained about the sale of black-market alcohol in Pudukkottai. Police took him for interrogation to the police station and beat him up. As a result, the three policemen in the station were suspended.
Three policemen in Pudukottai district have been suspended for assaulting a visually challenged man in the Viralimalai area in Tamil Nadu’s Pudukkottai district. Shankar, a visually impaired person, had allegedly complained about the sale of black market alcohol in the region.
Due to this, Shankar was taken to the police station for interrogation, and was severely beaten by the police.
Shankar was seriously injured and was admitted to the government hospital in Viralimalai. Following this, his mother gave a complaint, and policemen Senthil, Ashok and Prabhu, who were stationed at the Viralimalai police station where the attack took place, were transferred.
The District Superintendent of Police has suspended all the three accused policemen.
