Three minors, father held after car rams into roadside shanty in Telangana killing four women

The Telangana police found that the minor’s father, a businessman, was aware of the child driving the car. The police charged the father with a charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
Three minors were detained after a speeding car rammed into a roadside shanty, killing four women in Telangana’s Karimnagar.
Police have detained three minors and arrested the father of the minor driver under IPC section 304 after the car ploughed into roadside huts in Karimnagar on Sunday, January 31.
Four women were killed and three others were injured when the car driven by a minor ran into their makeshift huts on the roadside. In the end, the car landed in a drainage canal.
While three women died on the spot, the other one died while being taken to a hospital. The deceased are identified as Fariad, Sunita, Lalita, and Jyoti. The driver of the car escaped after the accident.
Later, police found that it was a minor studying in Class 9 who, along with his friends, were on a joy ride when he lost control over the car and met with the accident.
The police found that the minor’s father, a businessman, was aware of his son driving the car, and so police decided to act firm on him and slapped a culpable homicide charge not amounting to the murder.
The car also has several traffic violation challans pending.
