Three men on trial for first-degree murder in a swarming attack in a Circle K parking lot in Calgary's Beltline have been found guilty of lesser offences.
Karson Goodeagle, 33, was found injured in the middle of 11th Avenue near Centre Street South on Jan. 5, 2020.
He died hours after he was attacked.
Dwayne Iyn Turner, 54, Tyrell Noskiye, 32, and Yahye Gabad, 25, were on trial on a charge of first-degree murder.
On Thursday, Court of Queen's Bench Justice Suzanne Bensler ruled the men did not plan to kill Goodeagle and did not forcibly confine him.
Turner and Gabad were convicted of manslaughter while Noskiye, who fatally stabbed the victim, was found guilty of second-degree murder.
Security camera video from neighbouring businesses shows Goodeagle being attacked in the parking lot of a Circle K convenience store by four people.
Goodeagle tried to get away but he was "overpowered," said the prosecutor, who described the victim being pushed, punched, kicked and stabbed.
A sentencing hearing will take place at a later date.
