Three in Andhra Pradesh arrested for stealing 40 litres of petrol from bunk
India Today
Three men in Andhra Pradesh Guntur decided to steal petrol from a petrol bunk. They reached a petrol pump at 2 am, locked up the room where the staff were sleeping and stole 40 litres. They were identified based on the CCTV footage and arrested.
Owing to the steep increase in petrol prices, three men in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur stole 40 litres of petrol in two 20-litre cans of petrol from a bunk. CCTV footage of the incident has been uncovered and the three men have been arrested by the police.
In Andhra Pradesh, petrol costs Rs 121 per litre. This seems to have given new ideas to criminals who are stealing petrol.
The incident took place in Guntur district’s Prathipadu. The trio working as masons wanted to make easy money and decided on stealing petrol.
On Monday, April 4, at around 2 am, they reached a HP petrol pump. They were aware that the staff were sleeping in a room, so they locked them inside. They proceeded to fill up two 20-litre cans filled with petrol and escaped.
In the morning, when staff accounted for the stock, they realised the robbery and approached the police. A complaint was lodged with the police, who, based on CCTV footage, identified the men and arrested them.
