Some 1,500 families and 2,500 workers will benefit from the second edition of the food kit distribution scheme of the General Administration of Endowments at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs. The project will be implemented in co-operation with Hifz Al Naema Centre, a Qatari food-saving social organisation. The launch of the initiative was announced at a press conference attended by Dr Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Ghanem al-Thani, General Administration of Endowments director-general; Saad bin Omran al-Kuwari, General Administration of Endowments assistant director-general, and Yusuf bin Abdullah al-Khulaifi, Hifz Al Naema Centre Public Relations officer. Dr Sheikh Khalid said the scheme is one of the "pioneering initiatives" launched by the General Administration of Endowments last year with the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in co-operation with Hifz Al Naema Centre to deliver food baskets to needy families and workers.More Related News
