Thousands throng to see rejected TN tableau for Republic Day displayed in Coimbatore | Watch

The Tamil Nadu tableau for Republic Day, which was rejected by the Central government, was displayed in Coimbatore from Friday, January 29, to Monday, January 31.
The Tamil Nadu tableau, which was rejected for the Republic Day parade in Delhi, was displayed in Coimbatore till Monday, January 31. The tableau reached Coimbatore on Friday evening.
Thousands of people from nearby villages and towns thronged to see the Republic Day tableau. The tableau was displayed in VOC Ground in Coimbatore.
The tableau featured various Tamil Nadu freedom fighters who contributed to India’s freedom struggle against the British.
One of the scenes depicted the boycott of foreign goods incident and the widespread support it garnered. As per a report by The Hindu, the rear of the tableau showcased V.O. Chidambaram Pillai pulling an oil press, a punishment that the British had handed out to him.
