A video of Olive Ridley turtles arriving at the Odisha coast for mass nesting has gone viral online. The clip was posted by IFS officer Susanta Nanda on Twitter.
A video of an enormous number of Olive Ridley turtles arriving on the coast of Odisha for mass nesting has surfaced on the Internet. The clip was shared on Twitter by IFS officer Susanta Nanda and featured the arrival of the endangered species of sea turtles on the eastern state’s coast.
The beach at Odisha was taken over by a whopping 2.45 lakh turtles. They arrived at the Gahirmatha and Rushikulya rookeries simultaneously. This is a rare phenomenon, according to Nanda.
“Odisha is witnessing a rare phenomenon of mass nesting at Gahiramatha & Rushikulya rookeries simultaneously. Mass nesting also started at Rushikulya from 4.00 am today. Yesterday it started at Gahirmatha,” reads the caption of the post.
