“Saturday Night” is currently one of the most popular movies on Netflix, according to the platform’s public ranking system.
The biographical comedy-drama revolves around the first episode of NBC’s “Saturday Night” ― later renamed “Saturday Night Live” ― and what happened on the day of the show’s 1975 premiere. Directed by Jason Reitman, the movie features an ensemble cast including J. K. Simmons, Gabriel LaBelle, Rachel Sennott, Dylan O’Brien, Finn Wolfhard, Nicholas Braun, Cory Michael Smith, Ella Hunt, Kaia Gerber, Willem Dafoe and Matthew Rhys.
Although the film received mostly favorable reviews from critics, “Saturday Night” had a disappointing box office performance, grossing less than $10 million against its $25–30 million budget.
