Varun Chakravarthy and Rahul Tewatia failed to pass the fitness test they gave at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru after being named in India's T20 squad for the five-match series.

Former Australia leg-spinner Brad Hogg has come down hard on Varun Chakravarthy and Rahul Tewatia after the two Indian players failed the fitness test ahead of the T20I series against England. Varun Chakravarthy and Rahul Tewatia failed to pass the fitness test they gave at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru after being named in India's T20 squad for the five-match series. Chakravarthy was also named in the T20 squad for the Australia tour but he couldn't travel Down Under due to a shoulder injury and Hogg reckons the recent test could have been the last chance for him and Tewatia don the Indian jersey.
