
'There are fatalities,' RCMP say as collision closes Alaska Highway north of Teslin, Yukon

RCMP say people have died in a collision that has closed the Alaska Highway Wednesday afternoon, north of Teslin, Yukon.
In a brief email to media just after 3:30 p.m. PT, Yukon RCMP said there was a "serious two vehicle collision" on the highway, about 70 kilometres north of Teslin.
Another email from police a few minutes later said, "There are fatalities."
Police said the highway was closed in both directions, and that traffic is "backed up quite a ways."
There are no other details about the collision.
Travellers are being advised to check 511Yukon for any updates on the highway closure.
