The night my son, 'Chosen' creator Dallas Jenkins, told me he wanted a new dad
Fox News
My oldest son Dallas cut me to the quick one year when he was growing up. It was after prayers, Bible verses and a song. He told me he wanted a new father.
Jerry B. Jenkins is a novelist and biographer who has written more than 200 books, 21 of which have been New York Times bestsellers. Most known for the "Left Behind" series and "The Chosen" novels, he has also written as-told-to-autobiographies of numerous Hall of Fame athletes. He also assisted Billy Graham with his memoir. Jerry is a member of the Colorado Authors Hall of Fame, chairs the Creative Writing major at Colorado Christian University, and teaches writing online at JerryJenkins.com.
But that was also the age Dallas was when he told me, "I want a new dad." This came at the end of our nightly ritual when I put him to bed, prayed with him, had him recite a few Bible verses, and sang a couple of songs with him.
