Vivek Agnihotri's directorial venture, The Kashmir Files, is doing wonders at the box office. It will soon cross the Rs 250-crore mark in India.
There is no stopping Vivek Agnihotri's directorial venture, The Kashmir Files. The film is doing wonders at the box office even after 20 days of its release. Despite stiff competition from various biggies like RRR, Gangubai Kathiawadi and Bachchhan Paandey, the film has managed to pull the crowd to the theatres. On Day 20, it reportedly collected Rs 234.47 crore at the total box office collection. The Kashmir Files, which released on March 11, is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus during the Kashmir insurgency in 1990. It stars Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumaar, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi.
The Kashmir Files has crossed the Rs 250-crore mark in the worldwide box office collection. It is expected to cross that mark in just India as well. According to early estimates, the film minted Rs 2.50 crore on Day 20, taking the total domestic box office collection to Rs 234.47 crore. The Kashmir Files has braved the storm of RRR in the Hindi belts and will now zoom past the Rs 250-crore mark at the domestic box office soon. It is expected to end in the range of Rs 265 to 275 crore to emerge one of the biggest grossers of all time. Meanwhile, The Kashmir Files had an overall 15.37% per cent Hindi occupancy on Wednesday, March 30.
The Kashmir Files is based on the life of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990, during the Kashmir insurgency. The film is a true story, based on video interviews of the first generation victims of The Kashmir Genocide of the Kashmiri Pandit Community. It’s a heart-wrenching narrative of the pain, suffering, struggle and trauma of Kashmiri pandits which also questions eye-opening facts about democracy, religion, politics and humanity.
