It just sort of happened.
There was a group text chain created by running back Tyrone Tracy among the six members of the Giants’ 2024 NFL Draft class, and one day early last season one of the young guys messaged, “Anyone want to go eat?’’
From there, a tradition was spawned, with the six players having dinners together, usually on the road, before as many games as possible.
Steakhouses were the favored spots, everyone paid for themselves, the conversation flowed and budding relationships grew into bonds.

The very early version of Kevin Durant in the NBA was pitched to us as the loyal basketball purist, the ideal small-market personality. He enjoyed playing in Oklahoma City.
