The edge of space and beyond: Billionaires fuel new space race

Where once the space race was entirely fuelled by nationalistic pride and by the Cold War era, today it is seeing new energy in the fulfilling of billionaire fantasies.

Space - the word itself carries a whiff of both the finite and the infinite; in its definition, it is both restrictive and liberating at the same instance; in its scope, it can be full of possibilities and yet be impossible to imagine in its entirety. Space has no beginning and no end, depending on where one wants to be in it. But if one had the money and the vision, one could certainly try and reach for the stars, if not race to the edge of space.
