The Ashes: Scott Boland, who came up with a stunning spell on his debut in the Boxing Day Test, retained his place in the Australia XI for the 4th Test, starting January 5 in Sydney, as senior pacer Josh Hazlewood is yet to recover completely from a side strain. Usman Khawaja replaces Travis Head who was ruled out due to Covid-19.

Australia on Tuesday announced the playing XI for the 4th Ashes Test, starting January 5 at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Left-hand batter Usman Khawaja will replace middle-order batter Travis Head who was ruled out due to a positive Covid-19 test.

Usman Khawaja's Test return for the first time since 2019 is the only change Australia have made to their winning combination for the 4th Test against England.
