The Ashes: England ring in changes to playing XI for Boxing Day Test, Jonny Bairstow, Zak Crawley to feature

The Ashes: England have dropped struggling batters Rory Burns and Ollie Pope and brought in Zak Crawley and Jonny Bairstow. Fast bowler Mark Wood has been recalled alongwith spinner Jack Leach for Stuart Broad and Chris Woakes.

Struggling batters Rory Burns and Ollie Pope have been dropped by England for the third Ashes Test while fast bowlers Stuart Broad and Chris Woakes have both been rested. Jonny Bairstow is expected to be a direct replacement for Pope while Zak Crawley will take Burns' place at the top of the order.

Meanwhile, England have also brought back fast bowler Mark Wood and spinner Jack Leach for the Boxing Day Test. England go into the match trailing 0-2 in the five-match series, having suffered heavy defeats in Brisbane and the Adelaide pink-ball Test.
