Mark Waugh lamented the cruel end to a fighting innings from Jos Buttler, who got out hit-wicket while trying to save the second Ashes Test at the Adelaide Oval on Day 5.

Former Australia cricketer Mark Waugh sympathised with England wicketkeeper Jos Buttler, who's heroic innings in the Adelaide Test ended in an unfortunate hit-wicket after which the tourists lost all hopes of a draw and went down by 275 runs on Monday.

Buttler tried his best to save the game for England, producing a spectacular rearguard innings of 26 but got out hit-wicket after batting out 207 deliveries in 258 minutes on the final day.
