The 14 most compelling lines from today's January 6 committee hearing
CNN
For the second time in the last five days, the January 6 committee met publicly to make its case that former President Donald Trump knew he was lying about fraud in the 2020 election -- and did it anyway.
I watched the whole hearing and pulled out the 14 lines that mattered most. They're below. (These are in rough chronological order.)
1. "The Trump campaign legal team knew there was no legitimate argument...to overturn the election, and yet President Trump went forward with his plan for January 6 anyway." -- Wyoming GOP Rep. Liz Cheney

A little-known civil rights office in the Department of Education that helps resolve complaints from students across the country about discrimination and accommodating disabilities has been gutted by the Trump administration and is now facing a ballooning backlog, a workforce that’s in flux and an unclear mandate.
