Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday said that he is not afraid of being slapped. His remark was allegedly in response to a recent statement made by BJP MLC Prasad Lad in which he purportedly spoke about "demolishing" Shiv Sena Bhavan.
In a veiled dig at the opposition BJP, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday said he is used to criticism now and gets scared only if someone compliments him."Thapad se dar nahi lagta," Uddhav Thackeray said at an event in Mumbai's Worli, which was also attended by NCP chief Sharad Pawar and several ministers of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government."Some people want to slap us. We will give them such a slap that they would not be able to get up again," the Uddhav Thackeray said.Uddhav Thackeray's remark was allegedly in response to a recent statement made by BJP MLC Prasad Lad, where he purportedly spoke about "demolishing" Shiv Sena Bhavan.While addressing BJP workers in Mahim on Saturday, Prasad Lad had said, "Whenever we come here, a huge police force is deployed. They are so afraid. They think that when we come to Mahim, we will demolish Shiv Sena Bhavan... Don't be afraid, if the time comes, we will do it too."However, Prasad Lad later retracted his statement and claimed he was misquoted in the media. “I have highest regards for late Balasaheb Thackeray. The Sena Bhavan is a sacred abode associated with Balasaheb Thackeray.
