Thane man arrested for kidnapping, raping minor girl

A 14-year-old tribal girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped in Maharashtra's Thane district. The accused was arrested on Wednesday, police said.

A 14-year-old tribal girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by a 40-year-old man in Maharashtra's Thane district, police said on Thursday. The incident took place on Sunday in Bhiwandi taluka and the accused was arrested on Wednesday, they said.

The parents of the victim hail from neighbouring Palghar district and work at a brick kiln. A family acquaintance had taken the girl to his house in Bhiwandi for domestic work, the police said.
