Thane civic official attacked during anti-encroachment drive, loses 2 fingers

An assistant municipal commissioner of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) lost two of her fingers when she was attacked by a hawker during an anti-encroachment drive in the city.

A hawker was arrested for attacking Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) assistant municipal commissioner Kalpita Pimple during an anti-encroachment drive. The Thane civic body official lost two of her fingers during the attack. The incident took place on Monday evening. Kalpita Pimple was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital for treatment. Her condition was reported to be stable.
