Thalapathy Vijay's Beast is just a week away from its grand release. Ahead of Beast's release, the actor is thrilled about starting his upcoming film, which is tentatively titled, Thalapathy 66. The film's pooja took place today, April 6, in Chennai with the cast and crew. Thalapathy Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna, who play the lead roles in the film, were all smiles at the launch.

On Rashmika Mandanna's birthday yesterday (April 6), the makers of Thalapathy 66 welcomed her onboard. She will be sharing the screen space with Thalapathy Vijay for the first time. According to reports, the shooting of this untitled film will commence in April.

On April 6, the pooja ceremony of Thalapathy 66 took place in Chennai. Thalapathy Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna were all smiles at the event. While Vijay looked dapper in a blue shirt and sandal trousers, Rashmika looked gorgeous in pale green lehenga.

Back in September 2021, Thalapathy Vijay announced his upcoming film with Vamshi Paidipally. The film will be jointly produced by Dil Raju and Sirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations.

In a television interview, producer Dil Raju called Thalapathy 66 a family entertainer. He said, "When Vamshi narrated the story, we loved it. Vijay has done family entertainers in the past. Thalapathy 66 will be one such film. It will be emotionally strong. Since he is a big actor, the film will have all commercial elements, including action and comedy."

Composer SS Thaman has been roped in to score the music for Thalapathy 66.
