Tensions prevailed in Karmanghat area in Telangana after some cow vigilantes allegedly tried to stop the transportation of cattle. The police have arrested seven people so far and appealed to the community to maintain peace.
Tensions prevailed in Karmanghat area in Telangana's Hyderabad after some cow vigilantes allegedly tried to stop the transportation of cattle. They alleged that a gang attacked them for stopping the illegal transportation.
The police have arrested seven people so far and have remanded them to judicial custody. They are currently lodged in Cherlapally jail.
Police also registered three separate cases against cow vigilantes for attacking a pickup driver who was transporting cattle and also attacking police in which a sub-inspector was injured.
In the wake of tension, Telangana incharge DGP Anjani Kumar along with three police commissioners of Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda, ADG Intelligence, ADG Law and Order, IGP CI cell and other senior officers held a review meeting at the DGP office.

‘’No individual or group will be allowed to take law enforcement into their hands. It is the responsibility of an individual or group to inform the police if they receive any information. Police will take action immediately,’’ said DGP Anjani Kumar.
‘’Telangana state has been progressing fast and none will be allowed to tarnish the image of the state by creating a communal situation. A stern warning is issued to the mischief makers and miscreants’’ he added.
