Police arrested a teen for rape and murder of a 16-year-old girl in Telangana's Vikarabad. The body of class 10 girl was found from a nearby field in the early hours of Monday.
Police have arrested a youth for the alleged rape and murder of a class 10 student in Telangana's Vikarabad. According to police, the 20-year-old accused raped and murdered a 16-year-old girl from Angadichittempally village in Puduru mandal.
The body of the girl was found by villagers in agriculture fields in the early hours of Monday, March 28. Police then launched an investigation and interrogated seven boys and their families in connection with rape-murder case.
The probe revealed that both the girl and boy knew each other and were friends. The boy reportedly called the girl to meet him in an isolated area and tried to force himself on her. As the girl resisted, she banged her head on a tree and got injured. The accused allegedly raped the girl before fleeing the spot. The victim died of head injury.
‘’With the help of the technical and clues team, the police were able to identify the accused,’’ Said Vikarabad SP Koti Reddy.
