Telangana: Woman hangs herself after killing two daughters

A woman in Yadadri Bhongir of Telangana allegedly killed two of her daughters before taking her own life. The youngest daughter survived. The police suspect the woman was allegedly tortured by her husband, which made her take the extreme step.

A woman in Telangana's Yadadri Bhongir district allegedly took her own life after hanging two of her daughters to death on Thursday. The youngest daughter of the woman, who too was hanged along with her sisters, managed to survive, the police said. According to a report in the New Indian Express, Turpunuri Umarani (30) lived with her husband Venkatesh and three daughters -- Harini (12), Lasya (8) and Shainy (3) -- in Ramnagar in Choutuppal area of Yadadri Bhongir district. Umarani and Venkatesh were married for 14 years.
